Announcing Kerlig version 1.4.0 🎉
📎 New Feature: Chat Attachments!
You can now add images, documents and web pages directly to your chats.
What it allows you to do:
- Reasoning from images: Transcribe handwritten notes, convert blood test results into JSON format, or generate descriptions for social media posts.
- Work & learn: Chat with company documents (Word, Google Docs), research papers, or .epub books.
- Legal: Ask questions about your contracts, agreements, invoices and other legal documents.
Supported Attachments:
- Web pages
- Images: .png, .jpg, .webp, .gif
- Documents & ebooks: .pdf, .docx, .epub
- Text files: .txt, .csv, .json, .yml, .md, .js, .py, .php, .rb, and many more
- Screenshots: Whole screen or selected window
Add attachments any way you like – in Finder, select files and press your Hotkey or use the “Open with…” menu. Drag & drop, paste from clipboard or use the Add button in Kerlig.
Improvements:
- All Anthropic models now use Prompt Caching for attachments. This way attachments are only sent once throughout the multi-turn conversations, which significantly saves token usage.
- New models via Groq integration: LLaMA3.1 70b and LLaMA3.1 8b
- Pressing Hotkey now also closes the window when it’s opened
- New chat (⌘N) now starts as blank by default
- Temporarily disable internal system prompt to instruct model to pay attention to language variants when responding. This prompt will be customizable in future updates.

Kerlig version 1.3.1 brings following updates and improvements:
- Improved error messages: Now, when you encounter an error, simply click on it to open a Help page that provides detailed descriptions of the cause and solution. See Troubleshooting guides for OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, Groq an Ollama
- Groq: New model Gemma2 9b: Experience the newest model from Google, which was released on Jun 27 (Release notes). This model is also available via Ollama integration.
- Anthropic: Expanded token limit: We've increased the maximum anthropic tokens from 1024 to 4096. Long messages are no longer cut off.

- Ollama Integration🦙: Kerlig now supports local models via Ollama integration. Simply download Ollama from the official website and run it. Next, download and manage your local models directly within Kerlig Settings. See list of all models supported by Ollama. Enjoy 100% private, free and offline chats!
- New models: Claude 3.5 Sonnet and Gemini 1.5 Flash.
- Dropdowns for Model and Preset selection: Easily select models and presets with new dropdown menus.
- Custom OpenAI Base URL: Set a custom OpenAI base URL, enabling model access through relay servers and removing country limitations.
Improvements:
- New Integrations Tab: All integrations have been moved to the new "Integrations" tab in Settings for easier management and to accommodate for future growth.

This update brings improved multilingual support! 🇬🇧 🇪🇸 🇫🇷 🇵🇹
Responses will now match the language and regional variant of the input text. Notably, the supported variants include British and American English, Castilian, Mexican, and Argentinian Spanish, European and Brazilian Portuguese, European and Canadian French. Sophisticated models like GPT-4o and Claude Opus excel at recognizing and responding in specific language variants, while smaller models like Claude Haiku may not always account for these regional differences.

- Chat Management: You now have the option to switch between chats, delete individual chats or clear your entire chat history.
- Quick commands: Restore your last chat with the
⌘+Rshortcut, and start a new chat with⌘+N. - Privacy: Your chats are now saved in a local, encrypted database for maximum privacy and security.
Improvements:
- Keyboard navigation: Move between lines in multi-line prompt using keyboard arrows.
- Persistent window pinned state: The window's pinned/unpinned state now persists after closing the app.
- Improved window sizing: The maximum window height has been increased, and resizing is now more reliable on smaller screens.
- Updated actions list: The
